President - National Port Commission (CPN) of Guatemala

The National Port Commission, established in 1972, is a collegiate body representing the State of Guatemala in port and regional maritime transportation matters, advising the Executive Organism, and serving as the Designated Authority for compliance with the International Code for the Security of Ships and Port Facilities (ISPS Code), among other functions.

The National Port Commission, committed to promoting the updating of legal frameworks in Maritime and Port Law, the implementation of projects of international conventions, and other important actions in conjunction with the entities that are part of the National Port System of Guatemala, considers it a great opportunity to be part of the TAGs and the 34 nations that make up the CIP/OAS in the field of public policies and regulation. This will allow us to develop projects together that take advantage of the vast experience of the representatives who make up the TAGs, as well as to invite other entities to join the mission we have outlined and together be a key player in updating, integrating, and harmonizing port regulations and policies at the Inter-American level.
